The Successful High School Graduate Course

Carefully designed by high school career counsellors, the Course will help you to research career fields and determine if you should continue with further study, start an apprenticeship, start working, or pursue other fulfilling avenues.

Regardless of which direction you choose to take, you will also develop your own job application skills and documents.

The Finding Part-Time Work Course

Are you currently studying and unable to commit to full-time work? This course has been prepared to teach you how to find part-time or casual work while studying.

Start building your career and employability by securing work while studying.

The Successful Intern Course

Do you need to complete a work experience, internship or Work Integrated Learning (WIL) placement?

This program has been specifically designed to assist UQ students to research, apply for and complete a work placement. The course then helps you to unpack the employability skills you have developed during their placement, and apply them directly to job applications.

The Successful Graduate Course

This Course will provide you with a step-by-step guide to help you have the confidence and skills to enter the job market. The Course has been designed to teach you how to navigate the job application lifecycle. You will know more about who you are, what your strengths are, and how to pursue personal development throughout your career.

Employers are looking for graduates who know their personality types, can answer questions about their soft skills, who can fit into an existing team, who can demonstrate that they are confident and resilient, and who can demonstrate high levels of emotional intelligence. We will help you to create a professional resume, a professional LinkedIn profile, master our tested interview techniques, identify your own innate employability skills and core values, prepare for your first day on the job and much more.

Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving Micro Course

Critical thinking and problem solving go hand in hand. In this course, we will introduce you to ideas about critical thinking, particularly its importance and relevance in the workplace. Depending upon your previous work experience, education exposure and cultural background, you may not have developed strong critical thinking skills yet. Don’t let that worry you! Employer surveys in Australia often identify that graduate employers are looking for job seekers who possess strong critical thinking skills.

Imagine if you were an employer such as a hospital, and you were recruiting graduate nursing staff. Would you want a graduate on your team who could make a logical judgement about which bed to allocate to a patient, or a graduate who would need to wait for a supervisor to make this decision for them?

The Predeparture Course for International Students

From pre-departure checklists to helping students with their integration into the Australian culture, this course will bring peace of mind to parents and students alike.
